A new home and horizons for Bath Box Office

A new home and horizons for Bath Box Office

4 October 2021

Bath Box Office finds a new home at Bath’s largest entertainment venue, Bath Forum.

Independent ticket agent Bath Box Office has moved to Bath Forum from its former home in the Visitor Information Centre, Terrace Walk, which closed in 2020.

Customers will once again be able to pick up the latest arts brochures and book tickets from the friendly Bath Box Office experts once the counter re-opens (please check website/call before visiting to check opening times).  Meanwhile, tickets for all kinds of events can be booked online at bathboxoffice.org.uk and by phone 01225 463362.

Bath Box Office began as a box office service for Bath Festivals in 1948 and has since expanded its services and become an independent bespoke ticketing agent with more than 100 venues and artists. The box office team pride themselves in offering a flexible, unique and reliable offering for the smallest and biggest, local and national organisations.

The box office is equipped with a state-of-the-art ticketing system, widely used by more than 400 organisations across the globe, including Bristol Old Vic, Battersea Arts Centre and Symphony Hall, Birmingham. With many years of experience selling tickets, Bath Box Office staff are experts and advise and work with clients to give their customers the best booking experience possible. A new website will enhance the booking journey even further, as well as offering a new exciting digital event platform. The team also offer marketing such as targeted e-newsletters to past bookers to help clients reach their potential audience.

Bath Forum is a Grade II listed building, owned and run by Life Church Bath and Bath Forum. It is handily placed alongside the SouthGate shopping area and just across the street from the bustling main city bus and railway stations. Bath Forum is a fantastic arts hub for the wider community to enjoy. Bath Box Office audiences have enjoyed concerts and events in Bath Forum’s magnificent auditorium for many years. Bath Forum’s Art Deco auditorium seats up to 1,640 people and the building also has a ballroom and a ground floor cafe, both of which can be used for smaller events.

Bath Forum Limited has been grateful to receive Arts Council funding from the Government’s cultural fund, putting it in a stable position to provide an office, counter space and support to Bath Box Office. Bryn Williams, Bath Forum Limited Venue Manager, welcoming Bath Box Office to its new home, said: “We are delighted to provide a home for Bath Box Office, giving the people of Bath a place to continue buying their tickets locally from the Bath Forum reception”.

In 2018 Bath Box Office moved ownership from Bath Festivals to Visit Bath before now becoming an independent company. Kathryn Davis from Visit Bath said: “As Visit Bath develops as part of a wider regional Destination Management Organisation, we were delighted to help Bath Box Office transition into its own company and to work with Bath Forum to provide an ongoing home and support”.

Gena Goldfield, Bath Box Office Manager said: “I am so pleased that we have found another central location to base our box office. Bath Forum is the city’s biggest venue and feels the perfect fit for us and our clients, who are the heart of what we do! We have many exciting projects afoot, including the creation of a brand new website and digital event platform within this.”
