Prepare to sail the high seas with the award-winning Bath G&S Society as they perform the classic double bill – the nautical favourite HMS Pinafore and the duo’s first major hit, Trial by Jury, celebrating its 150th birthday this year!

In this dazzling new production set in the extravagant 1920s jazz era, the stories of both operettas intertwine and unfold on the deck of a Mediterranean bound cruise ship.  The Captain’s daughter Josephine and lower-class sailor Ralph Rackstraw fall unwittingly in love – but the Captain has already promised Josephine’s hand to Sir Joseph, a high-ranking officer in the Navy.  Mayhem ensues when the lovers decide to elope.  Elsewhere on ship trouble looms for socialite and bride-to-be, Angelina, on-board to tie the knot with her latest beau Edwin. Nowhere it seems is the path to true love plain sailing!

Beyond Gilbert’s hilarious satire on the British class and legal systems, the shows boast some Sullivan’s most memorable melodies including ‘I’m called little Buttercup’, ‘Never mind the why and wherefore’, ‘For he is an Englishman’ and The Judge's Song.  So, bring your kids, friends, sisters, cousins and aunts along to The Mission for an evening of toe tapping fun and entertainment!

‘… a close-knit group of performers that was well disciplined, supportive of each other and totally dedicated to their craft’.  ROSE BOWL ADJUDICATION, Pirates of Penzance 2018.
