Alma Twist make music that grooves first and hits the heart second.

Their new collection of songs grew out of late-night jams, DIY home-studio moments, and a short but intense writing trip to the English countryside. It’s music shaped by real life, real friendship, and a lot of playing together.

If you’re new to them: think the soulful warmth of Olivia Dean, the playful, poetic songwriting of Nectar Wood, and the colourful, harmony-rich world of Hiatus Kaiyote — but with their own twist. The new songs are joyous and groovy, with lyrics that stay honest about real-life struggles and the messy bits in between.

At the centre is Kat, a powerhouse vocalist and writer who isn’t afraid to say something real. These songs dig into what it means to chase something you love, even when it’s messy, uncertain, or scary. They’ve been tested live on festival stages across the UK at Glastonbury, Boomtown, Secret Garden Party, Isle of Wight, so by the time they hit the studio, the tunes already had a story and a heartbeat.

The new EP also reunites Kat with long-time collaborator Leo Nathan, fresh off his own headline tour. Their chemistry is the kind you can’t fake — they share a rhythm section and a kind of musical sibling energy that lifts everything they make together. They will be playing songs that they wrote together and Kat will also be featuring in Leo's set.

Leos music has been described as ‘capturing that golden in-between of being uplifting yet emotional, familiar yet fresh.’

The EP lands mid-April, followed by a South of England Launch Tour, where you’ll get the full band: big grooves, tight arrangements, and Kat’s unmistakable voice leading the charge. Expect retro soul, jazz colours, and modern pop energy, all in one warm, joyful, slightly chaotic cocktail
