Historian Lloyd Llewellyn-Jones brings to life the great city Babylon: The Mother of All Cities. In myth and legend Babylon was a byword for sinful decadence, the site of the Hanging Gardens, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the great Tower of Babel. Here is a brilliant work of scholarship and a fascinating evocation of a long-lost world.

Lloyd Llewellyn-Jones is Professor of Ancient History at Cardiff University. He is a specialist in the histories and cultures of Near Eastern, Greek and Hellenistic antiquity. Lloyd has appeared on the BBC, Channel 4, Netflix and in The Times. His books include The Cleopatras, Persians: The Age of the Great Kings, Ancient Persia and the Book of Esther and The Hellenistic Court.
