Bath Bachfest is delighted to welcome Onyx Brass for its Bath debut. Described by BBC Radio 3 as “wonderful, virtuosic brass”, Onyx Brass’s mission is to put its considerable abilities at the disposal of the music, which reflects the status of the brass quintet as a serious medium for chamber music. Their glorious Baroque programme will range across Europe and almost two centuries, from Monteverdi to Handel via Purcell and Scarlatti and with much J S Bach of course, including the dazzling Fugue BWV 541 Great in G major. A concert to change perceptions of what a brass ensemble can do.
