Step into the world of one of photography’s true titans. As Don McCullin celebrates his 90th year, the Holburne proudly presents Don McCullin: Broken Beauty, an extraordinary exhibition of the legendary photojournalist. Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime evening with Don McCullin in conversation with acclaimed broadcaster, arts champion and long-standing friend Mariella Frostrup.

From war zones to Roman statues, McCullin’s lens has captured the raw edge of humanity and the quiet dignity of ancient beauty. This exclusive event marks the UK debut of his latest and most unexpected body of work: intimate, haunting photographs of Roman sculptures, taken in museums across the globe.

What to expect:

  • A rare, personal dialogue between McCullin and Frostrup
  • Reflections on a career that spans Vietnam, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, and beyond
  • Insights into his Somerset landscapes and still-life compositions
  • A deep dive into his most recent work, Broken Beauty, on view at the Holburne from 30 January to 4 May 2026

Broken Beauty reveals McCullin’s continued evolution—his eye now turned to the timeless expressions carved in stone, offering a contemporary meditation on ancient art.

Holburne Director Chris Stephens shares:

Don’s work has long resonated with me. His connection to this region and his ability to find beauty in brokenness make this exhibition—and this conversation—truly special.

Don’t miss this extraordinary evening with a living legend. One night only. One stage. One unforgettable conversation.
