On Saturday 9th May 2026, Bath Abbey will be filled with the sounds of Sir Edward Elgar’s masterpiece, The Dream of Gerontius, exploring the journey of life, death and the afterlife, experiencing a new and unfamiliar world. Expect to encounter wonder, fear and hope, as well as demons and choirs of angels.
Join the joint forces of Wiltshire-based choirs The Malmesbury Singers and The Athenaeum Singers, accompanied by the Bath Philharmonia, for this concert of Cardinal John Henry Newman’s poem, set to music by Sir Edward Elgar: The Dream of Gerontius.
