Through poetry & physical theatre, Aish & Eryn unpick girlhood, transness and masculinity.

Gender is confusing. Aish and Eryn are definitely both a bit confused, even more so when other people are involved! Some people seem to think transition is a journey, but what if there’s no final destination?

Join Aish and Eryn as they attempt to navigate and unpick their experiences of girlhood, transness and masculinity through poetry, physical theatre and generally being massive goofballs. Expect revelations, revolutions and a house party that no one really wants to be at.

About us
TransMash Productions is made up of Aish Humphreys and Eryn McDonald, who are both Bristol-based poets and performers. Aish (he/they) is a poet, facilitator and curator whose work explores themes of queerness, misplacement, heritage and illness. Eryn (they/them) is a multi-disciplinary artist with a practice based in poetry, theatre and dance, whose work often explores protest, place and queer community.

Created with support from Tobacco Factory Theatres, The Island, Artspace Lifespace, The Lighthouse Poole.

Content warnings:
Discussions of gender dysphoria and transphobia, brief references to sex and sexual assault, drug references.

This felt raw. Real and lived. Outstanding.

Quotes from audience members:

Very moving to hear stories of how difficult it can be trying to find your identity and feel comfortable in it

I really liked the two characters as performers and storytellers, they felt so fresh and so the opening especially was so enjoyable
