In Small’s world, everything is small – her shoes, her bed, everything. But her dreams are big. And Small discovers that when you dream big, anything – and everything – can happen. Join award-winning author Manjeet Mann and picture book illustrator Amanda Quartey as they talk about their new book Small’s Big Dream. Find out what inspired Manjeet to write the story and how she hopes to inspire others, how two people work together on a book and see how Amanda brought the characters to life. Come ready to join in with some drawing and to share your dreams and ambitions just like Small! An inspiring and magical story about dreaming big.

Manjeet Mann is an actress, playwright, screenwriter, and director. She is the founder of Run the World – an organisation that works with women and girls from marginalised backgrounds and helps to empower them through sport and storytelling. She is the author of two YA novels – Run, Rebel was shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal 2021 and won the CILIP Carnegie Shadowers Choice Award, The UKLA Award, Diverse Book Award and Sheffield Children’s Book Award. The Crossing won The Costa Children’s Book Award and has been shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal.

Amanda Quartey has been drawing ever since she can remember. She was born and bred in London. At the age of 14 she moved to Ghana and studied art at school and later returned to the UK to study graphic design. Amanda studied Classics at university and worked in finance before returning to her artistic roots.
