Joanna Cannon, best-selling author of The Trouble With Goats and Sheep and Three Things About Elsie, will be talking to writer Clare Chambers, author of Small Pleasures, about Joanna’s new moving, funny, compassionate novel The Unlikely Visitor.

Joanna Cannon worked as a hospital doctor and wrote her first novel in an NHS car park. Her first two novels, The Trouble with Goats and Sheep and Three Things about Elsie, were both Sunday Times bestsellers and Richard and Judy picks. She is a regular panellist on radio, TV and at literary festivals. She has written for The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Mail on Sunday, The Independent, The Sunday Times, Good Housekeeping and The Observer. She co-wrote and presented the BBC Radio 4 programme Papageno and the Poetry of Disquiet, about the relationship between poetry and mental health.

Clare Chambers is the London born writer, author of Small Pleasures and Shy Creatures. Her novel Learning to Swim won the Romantic Novelists’ Association best novel award and In a Good Light was longlisted for the Whitbread best novel award.
