Bruch Romanian Melody from Eight Pieces Op 83 for viola, clarinet & piano
Brahms Trio in E flat major Op 40 for violin, horn & piano
A different Nash Ensemble line-up from the earlier evening concert will play a Mozart, Bruch and Brahms programme. The Ensemble’s recent Bruch recording was much praised and here they have placed the composer’s Romanian Melody from Eight Pieces Op 83 for viola, clarinet, and piano at the heart of their concert. Brahms’ Horn Trio is a work of contrasts: nostalgic and modern; joyful and dreamy; with light and shade, Brahms ensures that the horn summons both its lyrical and dramatic sides. Romantic, intense, and demanding of the finest chamber playing, this will be a musical treat.
