The Belcea Quartet requires little introduction. Established at the Royal College of Music in 1994, today it is one of the world’s leading contemporary quartets. As illustrated here with a programme featuring composers spanning two centuries, it embraces a widely ranging repertoire. Brahms String Quartet in C minor Op 51 No 1 is a ferocious, powerful work which allows the rich textural intensity of their fine quartet playing to shine through.
