MF5 Education Project

A joint project with Bath Philharmonic Orchestra

Discover the music of Clara Schumann in a concert: that brings together the work of a remarkable nineteenth-century composer and the creativity of a new generation.

In a special collaboration between Bath Philharmonic Orchestra’s Creative Learning team and members of the Mozartfest Ensemble, pupils from Hayesfield School have been creating their own new piece of music inspired by Clara Schumann. The result will receive its performance at this concert, offering a fresh perspective on Clara Schumann’s musical world through the imagination and ideas of young people today.

The programme also features Clara Schumann’s Piano Trio, performed by three exceptional musicians: pianist Junyan Chen, violinist Deniz Şensoy and cellist Laura MacDonald.

From the intimate conversation of chamber music to the excitement of an original work shaped by young musicians, it’s a chance to hear a celebrated composer’s music alongside the next generation’s response to it — and to experience the creativity that emerges when young people are given the opportunity to create, collaborate and perform.
