In the 20th Century; piano virtuoso Josef Hofmann was described by his contemporaries as ‘Legendary’, the ‘Greatest’ and even ‘A God’; but we have few recordings, and little is known of Hofmann, who retired from the stage in 1948 and who was also a teacher and even an inventor with over 70 patents.

With a live host; This evening is dedicated to Hofmann’s life and legacy and the evening brings together archive footage and recordings with live piano performance from pianist Joseph Segal of pieces by Rachmaninoff, Moszkowski, Rubinstein and Hofmann himself.
