WINTER with St Martin’s Voices

Join Classic FM presenter Zeb Soanes and St Martin’s Voices, from St Martin-in-the-Fields in London, for a magical evening of words and music as we welcome the Christmas season.

The programme brings together much-loved winter classics including Silent Night, In the Bleak Midwinter and In dulci jubilo, alongside beautiful new works by contemporary composers Lucy Walker, Cecilia McDowall and Reena Esmail. The evening culminates in a joyful selection of festive favourites, including Jingle Bells and Winter Wonderland.

The concert lasts approximately two hours, including a 20-minute interval.

Zeb Soanes presents Relaxing Evenings on Classic FM, following a 25-year BBC career as a newsreader, Shipping Forecast voice and Proms presenter. He regularly performs as a concert presenter and narrator with leading UK orchestras, ensembles and choirs, and is the bestselling author of the Gaspard the Fox children’s books. Zeb has presented acclaimed special programmes on Classic FM and recorded works including Walton’s Façade. Born in Lowestoft, he recently led a project creating a bronze statue of Benjamin Britten. He is currently touring Two Halves of Guinness, a one-man play celebrating actor Sir Alec Guinness. Zeb is Chancellor of the University of Suffolk.

Described as "almost miraculously polished" (Gramophone), St Martin's Voices is one of the UK's leading vocal ensembles, renowned for its musical versatility and clarity of sound. The choir sings for regular concerts and special events at its home in London's iconic St Martin-in-the-Fields, performing repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to new commissions from British composers. St Martin's Voices appears at concert venues and festivals across the UK and is regularly featured in broadcasts on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4 and Classic FM, and frequently performs with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.
