Bath has for 35 years been a UNESCO World Heritage Site, thanks to its Roman remains, Georgian architecture and other attributes. In 2021, Bath gained a second UNESCO listing as one of 11 of The Great Spa Towns of Europe.
This walking tour created by Fred Mawer Tours (fredmawertours.co.uk) focuses on Bath’s fascinating spa history. Learn how naturally hot, mineral-rich springs healed Bath’s mythical founder and of people through the centuries who came seeking cures by bathing in the supposedly healing waters.
Taste the waters in the Pump Room and, finally, discover how Bath became a modern-day spa destination.
Tours will be led by Fred Mawer and Julia Morris, Blue Badge Tourist Guides.
