Why do some people become radicalised? Who is most susceptible to ideological thinking? Can we unchain our minds from toxic dogmas?  As part of our series of lunchtime lectures,

Dr Leor Zmigrod (The Ideological Brain: The Radical Science Of Susceptible Minds) will argue that we need to know what’s happening inside us. Ideological extremism and polarisation are not just problems to fret about, but puzzles to be studied and understood. Knowing what and how we believe will allow us to avoid rigid thinking, embrace ambiguity and recognise our ability to resist irrational rules and authority.

Dr. Leor Zmigrod, a pioneer in political neuroscience, studied at Cambridge University as a Gates Scholar and won a Junior Research Fellowship at Churchill College. She has held fellowships at Stanford, Harvard, and both the Berlin and Paris Institutes for Advanced Study. She has won numerous prizes, spoken at Hay Festival and TEDx, and advises policymakers worldwide, including the UN and governments.

The Lunchtime Lecture Series is sponsored by The Norie Trust.
