John, Paul, George and Ringo were four lads from Liverpool whose music changed the world. But their meteoric rise to fame was not achieved in isolation. With A Little Help From Their Friends shares the incredible stories of the people who influenced The Beatles and made them who they were. Writer and broadcaster, Stuart Maconie, in conversation with Guest Curator and long-running producer of BBC Radio 2’s book Club,  Guest Curator Joe Haddow, offers a fresh perspective, exploring The Beatles’ impact on Britain and pop history beyond their songs and albums.

Stuart Maconie is a writer, broadcaster, and journalist known for his work in print, radio, and TV. His books include Cider with Roadies, Pies and Prejudice, and the bestseller The Full English. A regular host on BBC Radio 4 and Radio 6, he’s also often seen hiking in the Lake District.
