“Glittering virtuosity” said Fiona Maddocks in The Guardian of Mahan Esfahani’s playing, a fitting tribute to the musician who has made it his life’s work to rehabilitate the harpsichord in the mainstream of concert instruments. Multi-award winning and acclaimed worldwide, he was the first and only harpsichordist to be a BBC New Generation Artist, and in 2022 became the youngest recipient of the Wigmore Medal, in recognition of this significant contribution and long-standing relationship with the Hall. His Bachfest performance of works by Handel, Buxtehude and J S Bach promises to enthral.
