Haydn’s The Seasons

Haydn’s majestic final choral utterance, The Seasons, is as full of delightful surprises as you would expect from the composer of ‘The Creation’. Packed with beautiful arias, duets, trios and choruses depicting the various activities associated with the seasons of the year, it is a mystery as to why this great oratorio is not more often performed in the UK, for it shows Haydn at the peak of his powers.

An evening of delight, with three soloists on the verge of major careers and the superb support of Bath Philharmonia, conducted by the inimitable Gavin Carr.
