K7 The Life of One Tree, Adoette: Storytime and Craft with Lydia Monks

Bath Children’s Literature Festival

The Holburne Museum

Age: 5+

It’s not just people that live on your street; there are animals, plants and trees too. In her new book Adoette, author and illustrator Lydia Monks (What the Ladybird Heard) tells the tale of the life of one tree from a young sapling to a mighty oak that became the beating heart of a community until one day, people decided it would be best if she would go. Lydia will encourage children to think about the natural world around them with draw-alongs, readings and games in this interactive session.

Lydia Monks is a best-selling illustrator and author of children’s books, probably best known for her illustrations of Julia Donaldson’s books, which have sold over 4 million copies and been translated into 25 languages worldwide. Lydia’s long list of awards includes the Smarties Award, the Royal Mail Scottish Children’s Book Award, the Stockport Children’s Book Award, the Specsaver, Nielsen Gold Bestseller Award, the Red Big Book Award and the Pan Mac Award. She lives in Sheffield.
