BATH ORCHESTRAL GALA CONCERT – Our Diverse World

King Edward’s School, Bath is proud to present this year’s Bath Orchestral Gala Concert, entitled Our Diverse World, in partnership with Bath’s professional orchestra, Bath Philharmonia.

Music is a universal language that has the power to transcend cultural boundaries and unite people from different backgrounds. In a celebration of diversity and our planet, the extensive repertoire encompasses a wide range of musical choices, featuring pieces such as Laura Karpman’s luscious Marvels Theme tune, Higher, Further, Faster, Together, Hans Zimmer’s hypnotic Earth and Florence Price’s rhythmic Juba Dance to name but a few.

This unique Gala Concert brings together the combined forces of two orchestras, stage bands, musical ensembles, top soloists and four KES choirs in an extraordinary night of musical diversity.

2024 celebrates the school’s 11th year of partnership with Bath Philharmonia, and sees their conductor, Jason Thornton, along with his professional orchestra, play ‘side-by-side’ with KES pupils, staff, and parents alike in a highly accessible and entertaining programme.
