ABOUT THIS TOUR
With its honey-coloured Georgian streetscapes, Bath is frequently used as a scenic backdrop for films and TV shows. This fun and illuminating walk led by qualified Blue Badge tour guides sheds light on how filming works in Bath, takes in many of the filming locations, and provides intriguing behind-the-scenes snippets.

You’ll learn about the extensive filming in Bath for Bridgerton, Netflix’s hit Regency costume drama, including for Season 3, due out in May and June this year. The tour will also cover many other productions shot in the city. You’ll discover the locations used for Wonka, Warner Bros’ recently-released prequel to the famous Roald Dahl story, along with Jane Austen adaptations and other classic films in which Bath makes star appearances. Some are well-known, such The Duchess, Les Miserables and Vanity Fair, others less so, such as 80,000 Suspects, a 1960s thriller about a smallpox epidemic in Bath. Contemporary TV shows filmed in the city also feature on the tour, including ITV’s Bath-based detective drama series McDonald and Dodds, and Channel Four’s long-running First Dates – the restaurant used in the latest series is located in Bath. The tour also reveals Bath’s links with some famous actors and directors, as well as pioneers of cinematography. Organised by Fred Mawer Tours.
