Lucis Choir
WELCOME TO LUCIS
Directed by Francis Faux, LUCIS was founded in 2014 and has quickly established itself as one of the leading choirs in the Southwest. Since its inception, the choir has toured the Czech Republic and United States and has performed in a number of prestigious concert venues, such as Carnegie Hall, Cadogan Hall, Wiltshire Music Centre and Bath Abbey.
Lucis is one of the friendliest choirs in Bath and welcomes new members in all voice parts, particularly tenors and basses. They rehearse at St Luke’s Church at 7.30 pm on Tuesday evenings.
Lucis organise four concerts a year, are regular performers at the Bath Festival and often sing carols at the Bath Christmas Market. In recent years, they have held fundraising events for Genesis Bath, Unseen UK and the Royal British Legion and recently hosted a sing-a-thon in the Parade Gardens which raised over £2500 for those in need in Ukraine.
During lockdown, Lucis had the privilege of hosting several Q&As with guests including Bob Chilcott, Christopher Tin, Ola Gjeilo, Eric Whitacre, Ēriks Ešenvalds and Dame Emma Kirkby. They have also just announced an exciting commission with their patron Will Todd which will be performed in 2024.
