All We Imagine as Light

This remarkable movie is the first Indian film to compete in the main competition at Cannes for 30 years where it won the Grand Prix, having received an 8 minute standing ovation at its premiere. The story revolves around three nurses working in the same Mumbai hospital, whose relationships give them more problems than answers, and who decide to go to the remote village where one of them comes from. It is rare to see a film from an unknown director attract such an unadulterated chorus of enthusiasm and admiration - The Guardian describes it as “... a glorious film” while RogerEbert.com says “It already stands as an early majestic masterwork, told with incredible control and uncommon force of will.” This is a film you don’t want to miss.
