Bath Philharmonia presents a musical journey across the natural world featuring award-winning British cellist Laura van der Heijden (winner of BBC Young Musician of the Year 2012) performing Dobrinka Tabakova’s hauntingly beautiful cello concerto and Rebecca Dale’s sumptuous There Will Come.
Dobrinka Tabakova’s Concerto for Cello and Strings traverses an upwarding ascending journey from nature to human. Claude Debussy’s iconic symphonic poem, Afternoon of a Faun, describes a sensuous dream world of nymphs and naiads hidden in the natural world whilst Benji Bowers’ Terra Coda is a symphonic love letter to the earth.
