Long viewed as one of today’s leading Bach performers, Angela Hewitt opens the 2023 Bath Bachfest with works from Book II of The Well-Tempered Clavier, arguably one of the most important works in the history of classical music. Her programme also includes another piece, recorded as part of Angela’s much acclaimed Bach cycle, the French Overture. This joyful and effervescent work with clear references to French courtly dance is guaranteed to delight our audience.
