The Bath Festival 2024
The Guildhall
MENUGlobal bestselling author Abigail Dean joins journalist and Times Radio host, Stig Abell, for a chat about their new novels, love of crime fiction and publishing that pivotal second book.
Abigail’s debut novel (Girl A) was a global bestselling thriller, which focussed on trauma. Her new novel, Day One, centres around a community, devastated by a school shooting. Stig’s latest, Death In A Lonely Place is the second in his Jake Jackson series, where Jake finds his new life in the country threatened by an old case.
Hosted by Joe Haddow, this conversation will delve into contemporary crime fiction, to find out what ingredients are needed for a compelling page-turner, and if readers’ expectations have reached new heights.
Abigail Dean is a writer from Manchester, living in south London. Her first novel, GIRL A, was published in January 2021, and was an instant Sunday Times and New York Times Bestseller. Abigail’s second novel, DAY ONE, is out in March 2024.
