Littlemen
taking a new direction
Chapel Arts Centre
MENULittlemen are a collective of musicians who come together to make music with singer/songwriter and leader Nick Allen.
Their new album 'Visions' sees the band taking a new direction and moves away from their original Americana influence.
The album has a mix of genres and represents some of the most engaging elements of contemporary music from the past to the present day.
'Visions' was produced by drummer Robert Brian and Littlemen are currently booking shows to promote the record.
The experience within the band is staggering as the members have worked with names such as: Siouxsie Sioux, Peter Gabriel, Goldfrapp, Van Morrison, Royal Blood, The Rhythmites, Loreena McKennitt to name a few.
Nick writes the songs with keyboard player Mark Jones and then Rob comes in to work on the arrangement, then it's presented to the band who all add their personal touch with their many years of playing experience.
'Visions' represents Littlemen as a forward looking band who are not afraid to deal with the current issues of the day. Using a wide palette of sounds and colours within their new sound from mellotrons, drum loops, analog synths, bouzouki, all alongside the usual contemporary guitar band set up. This 'no rules' approach has given the band freedom to experiment and pull from different styles and periods of music, giving 'Visions' its very own identity within the Littlemen canon of work.
