A Silent Film Celebration with Neil Brand

Step back in time to the golden age of cinema with an enchanting evening at the historic Pump Room in Bath and experience the magic of silent film as it was meant to be seen—accompanied by live music . 

Join acclaimed silent film pianist Neil Brand as he takes us on a journey of music in silent action films showing and analysing how music can breathe life into those impactful moments of action on screen. Neil Brand, celebrated for his work on BBC's "Sound of Cinema," is one of the world's foremost silent film accompanists. Completing the evening will be a special screening of Buster Keaton’s classic Sherlock Jr., a masterpiece of comedy, romance, and adventure accompanied by Neil performing on the Pump Room's own Steinway & Sons grand piano. This silent film, renowned for its groundbreaking special effects and Keaton's impeccable timing, will transport you to a world where dreams and reality blend seamlessly. Neil's evocative piano compositions are the perfect complement to Keaton’s on-screen brilliance.
