The Iranian-American harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani has made it his life’s mission to rehabilitate his once unfashionable instrument – and he’s clearly succeeding. Never more so than through his remarkable musical partnership with the Danish recorder player Michala Petri. The celebrated pair make a very welcome return to Bath Bachfest with a programme including Handel, Scarlatti, and CPE and J S Bach (including a Sonata by the latter, previously attributed to the former).
